PROS – according to us!

Our tester’s experience tends to agree with the advertised results. Almost all noticed slower leg hair growth after 2 or 3 sessions. The hair got noticeably softer and lighter with use. After about 5 sessions they had  smooth hairless patches which made shaving fast and without the usual razor bumps. After 6 sessions almost all noted that there was very little hair left.

Once smooth, top-ups were needed – but not too often. A gap of about a month apart, and eventually 2 months or more…nice!

Price – The device can be bought for about £289 on amazon which, does seem reasonable when compared with some of the other products in this category, also nice!

Speed – It’s really fast so this is a great point on this particular type of IPL device. That said, the speed does come with a extra caveat as it requires a little more concentration as you must remember which areas you’ve flashed… not always easy, when in a hurry.

Looks – We think that it really looks great and the fact that it comes with a sleek carry bag makes it even more attractive for travelling and general storage.

The flashes are very bright, but deemed harmless to your eyes. This is a great point as the “now normal” googles or glasses are not needed for this product – nice to finally have full sight of what you are doing. We also found that it is a good idea to use it in a bright room so that the flashes don’t seem as bright.

Gives a warm and tingly sensation to your skin. On less sensitive areas this gentle feeling can actually be quite nice.

CONS

Sensitive areas can cause a little discomfort. Some more sensitive areas, like bikini line, under-arms, ankles, and thighs can smart a little. This is because hair can be thicker/denser in these areas. Luckily the device does have settings that you can reduce if it is feeling a little intense.

The flash rate is a little unpredictable. This can result in gliding it too far, (or not far enough) in between the flashes. This seems to vary – with some people with different skin tones not noticing a difference. It is possible that it just needs a little more practice than other IPL devices.

Effort is needed in protecting the skin you’ve flashed. Your skin can be sensitive for a little while after use so it is a good idea to stay clear of some things, such as using hot tubs and saunas, wearing tight-fitting clothing etc. Also good to remember that using bleaching creams or other items like perfumed or exfoliation products should be avoided for a little while.

All up, not too many negative reports for this IPL device, and it has some very good external reports.

Our Verdict:

Absolutely Great!. It scores top marks in most categories, looks great and is (mostly) a pleasure to use. It is one of our most recommended best home IPLs for silky-smooth skin on general all over hair removal. It takes a little getting used to but seems to be an all round winner and definately worth short listing or considering purchasing to try.
